Invite Codes for Students

Publish Tackks anonymously with invite codes

Before we get into invite codes, we always suggest the first option if you are a GAFE school or if you use Edmodo.

If you don't use Google, Office 365 or Edmodo at your school, use our newly launched invite codes (AKA teacher codes) which allows anyone without an email address or 3rd party account to create and publish anonymously on Tackk.

An account is required to publish a Tackk, however, if you have an invite code you can publish anonymously. Teachers can create an invite code in their account settings then distribute to their students.

Please remember if your student is under the age of 13 they must still have a signed parent permission letter before they use Tackk with invites codes.

How it works for students

1- Student without an account creates a Tackk

2- When Tackk is completed, student clicks "Publish"

3- Student will be prompted to sign up/login -or- enter an Invite Code (e.g. MsSmith)

4- A valid code will allow the Tackk to be created anonymously

@education do they have to use the same device to continue editing after?

@education I created a sample Tackk to experiment with the invite code as to experience posting from a students perspective. I have published and copied the URL then pasted the URL in a different browser. There doesn't seem to be a way to edit the Tackk unless you log in. I would like to figure this out so that I will be able to explain it to my students.

How can I utilize this feature from the iPad app?

@misszita We answered too quickly! The answer is YES, a user who published with an invite code will have to use the same device to edit later. Since it's using cookies to register them as the original user. Sorry for the confusion!

@gjohnson155 Sorry for the confusion...you will have to use the same browser on the same device to edit the Tackk later. 😀

@MrsCK You cannot use invite codes on the app, only tackk.com. If you're using a tablet or phone, you can use tackk.com the same way as desktop!

Thanks @education A good option for home. I think our school computers must clear cookies because it keeps resetting.

For clarification. If I'm working virtually with another student on a tackk poster can we both edit it after one person saves it?
