Department of The Interior

Secretary Kenneth L. Salazar

What the Department of Interior Is and What They Do

The Department of Interior is the part of the Presidents Cabinet that manages the U.S.'s natural and cultural recourses. The department employs around 70,000 people, and has more than 280,000 volunteers. They have a 12 billion dollar budget. Above is a picture of Secratary Kenneth L. Salazar, the head of this department. The department manages things like the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Bureau of Land Management, the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, ect. I would increase their budget so they could focus on discovering pratical alternative energy sources and cut down on pollution.
