Who are the Main Opponents?

One side is the Iraqi people, with the help from other countries. Terrorism is occurring in Iraq. This is coming from the group called ISIS, the Islamic State Militant Group. They are known for killing dozens of people at a time, as well as public excecutions.

Any other countries involved?

The US is the main other country involved. They are conducting air strikes and supplying the Kurdish forces with weaponry. British and France are also involved.  

How is this conflict being conducted?

On the ISIS side of the conflict, on the Sunni side, there are executions, suicide bombings, and all terrorist acts. On the Iraq side, the Shia side, there are air strikes and drones.

What was the cause of the conflict?

There was western intervention. It all mainly started with the 2003 invasion of Iraq by the US. The Sunnis want all control. This is why ISIS is wanting to gain power over all of the people of Iraq. They do not want any western ideas.

What efforts are being taken to solve the problem non-violently?

Organizations like the Iraqi Al-Amal Association. Their mission is to build capacity and raise awareness around social issues in Iraq to ensure peace. This associations work is aimed at teenagers. They also have training courses on non-violence. This is a national operation.
