Julie Foudy - A Passionate Leader at Athletes for Hope
For more than seven years, Julie Foudy has held a seat on the board of Athletes for Hope. She has contributed significantly to the organization’s growth over the years. A former soccer player, she is a key member of the US Women’s Soccer dynasty and played in four women’s World Cups and three Summer Olympic Games. In recognition of her achievements, she earned an induction into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Foudy brings the same level of dedication and intensity to her work with Athletes for Hope as she did to her soccer game.
Using her fame as a platform for philanthropy and activism, Foudy has worked extensively on behalf of gender equality in sports and children’s rights. She has become a role model for other members of Athletes for Hope who want to use their platform for the good of their communities.
Most recently, Foudy joined with another Athletes for Hope member, Ann Gaffigan, to organize a fundraiser during the Los Angeles Marathon. They took part in the marathon together and raised money for Magic Bus, an organization that focuses on the ability of sports to end generational poverty in poor communities in India.
