Diana Baumrind is known for her research on parenting styles and for her critique of deception in psychological research. She completed a clinical residency at the Cowell Hospital/Kaiser Permanente, then was a fellow under "the NIMH grant investigating therapeutic change, extending her leadership research to families and therapy groups." Baumrind believe that individual rights and responsibilities ineluctable and that moral decisions are made consciously. Baumrind made groundbreaking discoveries on parenting styles, which are still used today. She has found that authoritative parenting shows a better outcome for children. She was an extremely talented woman and her research will stay influential till this day.
