The responsibility
of content creation

I'm reading Saints of the Shadow Bible by Ian Rankin.

I got to a place where middle aged regulars enter a pub on 80s night:

"As the door opened, Rebus caught a blast of Duran Duran. Someone was singing along, though the band wouldn't have thanked them."

The band, made up of people just like the ones singing along in the pub, had no idea these people even existed. The lives of these people were affected by the band; their perception of the world was influenced by the mood of the song, altered by the lyrics and the beat. The band is made up of individuals who, singled out and come together, exert a tremendous influence on the lives, aspirations and world views of people like those in the pub, on 80s night. All by singing a song.

Creating content is tremendous responsibility and I feel it fully.
