Global Winds ?
What is the Jet Stream?

What are Global Wind Patterns ?
Global wind patterns: Winds are named by the direction from which they blow. The globe is encircled by six major wind belts.
The land breeze
- A breeze blowing toward the sea from the land, especially at night because the sea air is warmer and is rising, the cooler air over the land goes under.
What are Prevailing Westerlies ?
- A wind that blows from west to east.
What is a Sea Breeze ?
- A breeze blowing toward the land from the sea, especially during the day because the air over the water is colder and the air over the land is warmer. The colder air likes to take the warmer air's place as it rises.
What is wind ?
Wind is created by solar heat. The Earth is heated unevenly, so there is a rotation of cold and warm air. It is also created because of the Earth's rotation.
