Yellowstone National Park
Location: Wyoming, some parts located in Idaho and Montana
Yellowstone is a national park that sits on top of a giant volcano. This volcano is assumed to be active but not threatening. It's activity is demonstrated through the presence of hot springs and daily earthquake occurrences. Although yellowstone is not considered to be dangerous now, it could be in the future. The volcano has a cycle of erupting about every 600,000 years, meaning that we could be approaching eruption time once again. If the volcano erupts, it could make up to 2/3 of the United States uninhabitable. Yellowstone is a powerful super volcano that has created a beautiful landmark and tourist destination that is praised by many.
