“We’re all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, Eh?”
-11th Doctor, Doctor Who
I believe in the awesome phenomenon of God,
the uplifting environment in my home,
the strength of best friends lifting you up in dark times,
the friendship I have with my sisters,
the continuation of learning,
Faith, Hope, Love,
But I don’t believe in crushing people’s dreams.
I believe in sitting around a home-cooked meal,
I believe in doing what you love,
I believe in the magical world of reading,
Peace, happiness, music,
And I believe that I have the power to change the world.
“We’re all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, Eh?” -11th Doctor, Doctor Who. This quote is saying that when we die, we are just going to be a memory. We are going to be a bunch of jumbled up stories told by the ones who loved us most. So, why don’t we make the stories good? We should live our life to the fullest and make our life exciting, interesting, and creative. We should set a positive mark on the world, so we will be remembered by everyone.
This quote is from my most favorite T.V. show, Doctor Who. In this particular episode, The Doctor has been captured by his enemies and put inside a box that won’t let him escape. Once he does escape, he returns to his companion Amy, who is asleep. He talks to her, which includes this quote. He goes on to talk about how he knows the rest of her life will be great. After she wakes up, they embarked on another adventure. When I watched him say this it really made me think: “Am I making good stories?”
I think this quote is important because it tells us that we need to live our life to the best of our abilities, because it’s the only one we’ve got. It also shows us that we need to stand up for what we believe in, so when we become “stories”, other people will hear those beliefs and put them into use. It will keep our legacies alive. If we make our life good, people will also want to live their life like ours, so they too will be remembered.
When I grow up, I hope I have the same beliefs I do as my childhood. I want to be able to remember my past, but always look ahead to the future. I want to be able to show my individuality, but also fit into the crowd. I hope that my actions will show God, and I hope I will always stand up for what I believe in. If I do these things, my story will be a great one. I don’t think this credo will change to soon, because it has significance throughout my whole life.
This credo is significant to me because it always reminds me to be an optimist about life. I should look on the bright-side of things. I think others should hear this quote because maybe it will make them stop and think like me, “Am I making good stories?”. If others listen to this credo, they will also start thinking optimistically about life. Then, they will also be remembered by having good stories in the end.
