Social Studies Vocabulary
Messiah- A leader or savior of a particular group or cause.
Christianity- The religion based on the person and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, or its beliefs and practices.
Bethlehem- A town in eastern Pennsylvania on the Lehigh River to the northwest of Philadelphia; an important center for steel production
Disciple- A personal follower of Jesus during his life, esp. one of the twelve Apostles.
Resurrection- The action or fact of resurrecting or being resurrected.
Bible- The Christian scriptures, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.
Saint- A person acknowledged as holy or virtuous and typically regarded as being in heaven after death.
Apostles- Each of the twelve chief disciples of Jesus Christ.
Crucifixion- The execution of a person by nailing or binding them to a cross.
Gospels- The record of Jesus' life and teaching in the first four books of the New Testament.
