Courtney's Coats For Kids

It has been an honor of mine to have been asked to be a part of the nonprofit organization, Courtney's Coats for Kids, that was started in my best friend's memory. I am writing to share this beautiful program in hopes that we can get more support!

Our mission is to honor our beautiful Courtney by providing new coats to children who need them.

Our daughter Courtney Miller was killed in a tragic car accident on March 16, 2013 returning home from Florida. She was set to graduate in May with honors from The Ohio State University. Courtney was attending school to become a teacher, she had a real love for children and was excited to start her teaching career. Courtney was a very beautiful and loving daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. She is missed greatly by all of us. Our lives have forever been changed by this tragedy.

In keeping with her tremendous love of children, we have started a program in her honor called Courtney's Coats for Kids. We are currently purchasing coats for children at the Niles Primary School. We are very excited about this program and are looking forward to purchasing coats for children who need them. Courtney always doodled hearts in her calendars next to special events concerning her family. We have taken one of her drawings and had it made into a heart patch. Courtney's hand drawn heart patch will be placed inside each coat. This will be her trademark to symbolize her cause. This is a very individualized program, we will try to purchase coats that the children will love.
