Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or seeing a terrifying event. In the U.S alone 5.2 million people are affect by PTSD. Symptoms of the illness are flashbacks, nightmares, being emotionally numb,staying away from places or items that are a reminder of the event, and being easily startled. Some of the treatments available are trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy. People can get the help they need by going to a therapist or psychiatrist.
