Chien-Hung (Jeff) Chen

Entrepreneur, Software Engineer and Songwriter

Hello, I'm Jeff but my parents call me Chien-Hung. I am a web, mobile and game engineer currently residing in Cleveland, Ohio. I am a developer with a passion for making things work. I love JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 and I like to do my best to make things look good on the web. I am also currently pursuing my Masters in Computer Science with a focus in Bioinformatics at Case Western Reserve University.

Prior to pursuing my Masters, I received my Bachelors in Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University and worked as a software engineer at FormFire, a great company that digitized the health benefits process for insurance brokers and the businesses they serve. I also have worked as an IT intern at Jo-Ann Fabrics' headquarters, as well as a web developer at Case Western Reserve University's Kelvin Smith Library. If you really want to see more information about all of that feel free to check out my LinkedIn (see below).

Looking into my own future, I am excited to start my own company and create a web or mobile app (or multiple!) that gets lots of traction and usage. I am currently working on a content aggregator for a party game, so stay tuned to my Tackks if you're interested in checking it out!

Lastly, I am a firm believer and supporter of open-source, which is one of the reasons why I love JavaScript development so much. I am a huge fan and user of frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js, jQuery, Bootstrap, and I'm jumping right into Backbone.js and the Fat-Free Framework (PHP)! If you're interested in seeing my open-sourced contributions, feel free to check out my Github (see below).
