The Top Five Apps

The developer in me can't live without.

1. Sublime Text

Sublime text is hands down the best text editing app I've used. Extendable, bare-bones, no frills, open up a folder and just start editing. It has a nice "overview" view, and great customizable color schemes and syntax highlighting.

2. Terminal

If you're a developer using OS X, you can't live without the Terminal. If you can, you're not a developer. That's just a fact.

3. Google Chrome

As a web developer by profession, it is hard for me to not love Google Chrome. It is the browser with the most intuitive development tools, and is the browser with (generally) the most amount of bleeding edge support. Bonus: Get Chrome Canary!

4. F.lux

F.lux is an awesome tool that helps keep your screen nice and yellow and easy on your eyes. Especially on those late night coding sessions when you wake up and it's completely dark and you just want to code and you turn on your computer and you blind your eyes... you never do that? Maybe it's just me.

5. Spotify

As a developer, I listen to a lot of music. Heck, as a human being, I listen to a lot of music. Spotify is the best app, in my humble opinion, to do that. Imagine when iTunes was the best app around to listen to music... now make all that music that you wish you could buy in the iTunes Store available for free. What's not to love?

These are my top 5 apps. What's yours?
