About Jerome Eberle
As an Editorial Coordinator with the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), writer and editor Jerome Eberle supports all editorial functions of AAP’s two principal journals: Clinical Advances in Periodontics and the Journal of Periodontology. Working in AAP’s Publications and Marketing Department, Eberle is primarily responsible for processing online journal submissions using ScholarOne, a manuscript submission software program, and preparing the submissions for peer review. In addition, Jerome Eberle liaises with authors, reviewers, and editors, handles invoicing and marketing duties, maintains on-site storage and library systems, and assists the Managing Editor and journal managers with special projects.
Prior to joining AAP, Jerome Eberle worked for five years as an Editorial Assistant with Booklist magazine, a book review journal published by the American Library Association. Attached to the Adult Books section, Eberle served as the principal contact for the section’s 30 reviewers, assigning, tracking, processing, and editing reviews, as well as writing reviews himself for the Adult Books and Media Editors. He also provided general administrative support and assisted with special projects, such as spotlight issues and author panels.
Jerome Eberle’s additional professional experience includes three years as a Member and Customer Service Associate with the American Library Association and four years as an Admissions Counselor and Communication Associate with North Park University in Chicago, a full-time position he held while pursuing his undergraduate degree. Eberle holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from North Park University and an Editing Certificate from the University of Chicago’s Graham School of General Studies.
