About Jill LaMorie
Dr. Jill LaMorie applies extensive experience as a senior field researcher and clinician with the National Military Family Bereavement Study, conducted by the Center for the Study of Traumatic Stress at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. Also the former director of professional education and training at the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) in Washington, D.C., she has led seminars and workshops for survivors of military death and trauma. Dr. Jill LaMorie has taught at the TAPS National Suicide Survivor Seminar, the U.S. Army Survivor Outreach Series, and a number of other national events.
Dr. Jill Harrington-LaMorie also stands out as the author of numerous book chapters and articles on grief and bereavement. The author of a chapter on post-suicide interventions for military families, she has also given clinical perspectives on combat deaths for the Living with Grief series of publications. Her recently released work includes a chapter in a new book on grief support for adolescents, as well as an article on secondary loss published in TAPS magazine. Also a peer reviewer for several publications and an advisor to many survivor care and veteran support groups, Dr. Jill Harrington-LaMorie is an in-demand public speaker.
