Jim Hawkins is the main character and the narrator of Treasure Island. His father owned an inn and for weeks, someone, who calls himself Captain, stays at the inn. Captain told Jim that if anybody with only one leg comes by, he should tell him immediately.
Since Captain had been drinking too much rum, Dr. Livesey had to come in and help Captain. So for a week, he had to stay in bed.
A couple days after, when Jim is outside, a blind beggar visits the inn. His name is Pew. Pew claims to know Captain, or Bill as he calls him, and is a life-long friend. After hearing this, Jim gets suspicious of Pew.
