Eaglet Extra Credit
For the last week or so, we have been following the hatching of the eaglet twins at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. Many of you have also been checking in on the eagles during your own time. This extra credit assignment is designed to combine this unique experience with our language arts objectives.
The assignment details
Use what you have learned about figurative language to tell the story of the eaglets' hatching. Pretend that you are one of the eaglet babies, and tell the story of your birth from your point of view. Include various examples of figurative language to help you provide detail for your story.
Points to be given
This is an optional extra credit assignment worth up to ten points. In order to receive the full ten points, your story should:
1) be told from the first person point of view of the baby eaglet
2) be about a page in length
3) include examples of figurative language
4) demonstrate standard English grammar and mechanics
5) be turned in to the classroom trays on or before Friday, February 27, 2015
