About John Barrett MD
A published researcher and medical professional, John Barrett, MD,
earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at
Buffalo's School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. There he graduated
cum laude with research honors. The next year, John Barrett, MD,
accepted a residency at the Women and Infants' Hospital in Rhode Island,
where he received several awards for his skill as a teacher.
In 2001, John Barrett, MD, came to Pittsburgh, PA, where he joined Womancare Associates at the Magee Women's Hospital. His seven-year tenure with the company included membership on committees ranging from risk management to womancare health information management. Subsequently, he provided gynecological services at Mercy Hospital University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) of Pittsburgh, PA.
John Barrett, MD, holds certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Having published numerous articles on the topic of women's health, he recently had a research paper accepted for publication in the Journal of Reproductive Medicine. His volunteer experience includes serving at medical centers in Haiti and Guyana.
