About John Cutchin
North Carolina attorney John Cutchin has practiced law for more than three decades. Focusing primarily on traffic, domestic, and criminal court matters, John Cutchin owns and operates John F. Cutchin, P.A., based in Newton, North Carolina. He founded his own solo practice in 1978 and has since provided legal representation to thousands of clients. In addition to taking on family and criminal court cases, he also serves clients in need of estate administration and legal name changes. In 2008, his practice was recognized as the Best Law Firm of Catawba County. He has also earned a Superb Attorney rating by Avvo.
Born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, John Cutchin attended Davidson College for his Bachelor of Arts. During his time at Davidson, he held responsibilities at the campus radio station and obtained membership in the Sigma Nu Fraternity. After completing his undergraduate studies, Mr. Cutchin enrolled at the University of North Carolina for his legal degree. While working toward his Juris Doctorate, he joined one of the University’s law fraternities, where he eventually became Dean/President of that law fraternity.
Throughout his career, John Cutchin has been an affiliate of professional organizations such as the Catawba County, Lincoln County, North Carolina, and American Bar Associations, serving the Catawba County Bar in every elected position, including President. He also served on the boards of community associations such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Newton Merchants Association. In recent years, he has held a seat on the boards of the Women’s Resource Center and Sipe’s Orchard Home.
Outside of practicing law, John Cutchin is an active member of his church, where he teaches Sunday school, contributes to the Fiscal Advisory Committee, and serves as a lay leader. He enjoys boating, watching films, and reading in his leisure time.
