About Jorge Mas Santos
Cuban-American business leader Jorge Mas Santos presently chairs the board of the publically held company MasTec, Inc., which he co-founded and helped build into a major developer of infrastructure for telecommunications, energy generation, and other industries. MasTec employs more than 12,000 people and generates $3.6 billion in annual revenue. Jorge Mas Santos started out at MasTec’s predecessor, Church and Tower, in the mid-1980s. Since the 1990s, he has participated in all aspects of the company’s development.
The recipient of an MBA from the University of Miami, Jorge Mas Santos has launched and grown several businesses during his career. He previously founded the Neff Corporation, which he grew into one of the largest U.S. renters of utility and construction equipment until its sale in 2005. He also serves as managing partner of a private equity firm that invests in multiple industries, including the real estate and aviation sectors.
Outside of the office, the entrepreneur devotes his time and resources to nonprofit work, in particular initiatives that support Cuban-Americans and promote a free and democratic Cuba. He currently chairs the Cuban American National Foundation and continues a mission that his father began working toward more than three decades ago.
