Beauty and Morality
Transcendentalist is a very beautiful thing. Beauty is eternal, because a mere glimpse of it was enough to make them drop everything and simply take in what they heard or saw with neither motive or intention. Emerson became a "transparent eyeball" alone in the woods. The way the snow falls and the leaves change color and the light falls are imprints of divine. Beauty gave us wings too ascend to the heavens and see reality from the standpoint of the gods. Stretching your imagination comes easy and freely. We are drawn to the beauty in everything, everything is beautiful by arguing that beauty derives from purposiveness.
This belief reflects itself perfectly with their views on moral values. The key to success for people lies in their ability to improve themselves not physically, but mentally. One must find himself in this world, and morality can help you and satisfy you. A man is never done growing mentally. Independence, they believe, is probably the best thing people have in their favor. One of the most quotes in Walden reads "Let every one mind his own business, and endeavor to be what he was made of."
