About Julio M Herrera Velutini
Recognized as a major international banking leader, Julio M. Herrera Velutini has followed his family’s example of honest and innovative banking. His family’s involvement with the banking industry dates bake to 1890 and the establishment of Banco Caracas in Venezuela. His forefathers revolutionized banking in Venezuela by introducing printed currency and consolidating stocks. He draws on the example of his family as the chairman of a major international bank. Before assuming this position, Julio M. Herrera Velutini served as chairman and director of Banco Real in Caracas, Venezuela. During his tenure with Banco Real, he laid the foundation for expansion to many new cities and furthered its mission of lending to small and medium-sized businesses.
Born and raised in Caracas, Julio M. Herrera Velutini studied at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and gained his first experiences in finance with the Caracas Stock Exchange. He has worked in the banking industry since. Dedicated to philanthropy, he operates a foundation through the bank that he presides over, which makes donations to promote the development of new technology and art.
