Public servants wanted! The Irving Fire Department is accepting registrations through July 31 for its Civil Service Exam which will be administered Sept. 21. The department plans to hire more than 50 candidates with an expected starting pay of approximately $4,202 per month. Candidates must be between 21 and 35 years of age and a U.S. citizen. A college degree is not required to register for the exam; neither are firefighter or emergency medical technician (EMT) certifications. Register online to take the exam or call (972) 721-2696. Household Document Shredding Organized by the City of Irving, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 24 128 N. Briery Road. Open to Irving residents only; proof of residency is required.

Food truck with more than great food to offer: The Anchor Food Truck serves gourmet plates that come with sides and are only $6 ($1 for drinks). ALL PROFITS go to feed the homeless and hungry in Irving.
