Module 1: Piktochart

AGENDA

Introduction: 25 minutes

  • The first tool being presented is called Piktochart.  This tool is used to create infographics and you do not need to be an artist to be able to design your very own infograph - while having it come out very professional looking.  There are four simple steps laid out on the site to get the user started.  When you start going through the site you will notice that you can create much more than just infographs.  There are also templates for posters, presentations, and reports.

Module 2: BeFunky

AGENDA

Introduction: 25 minutes

  • The second tool, BeFunky, is a photo editing tool and can also be used as a collage maker.  This is a really cool site for people who may not be so artistic because everything they need to edit their photos or make a collage is right there for them and is simple to use.  This is a great tool because it can be used for so many different types of organizations or classes.

Module 3: Pocket

AGENDA

Introduction: 25 minutes

  • The next tool I am presenting is a social bookmarking tool called Pocket.  This is a very simple site to navigate and is laid out so that it is clear for the user to understand.  Once an account is set up, it's not going to look like much because nothing has been added to your 'pocket' yet.  The idea of social bookmarking is that you are keeping a collection of web documents in one place.  Also, you can keep a Favorites section as well as an Archive section.  Another great feature is that you can place your own tags on certain documents that you might want to be organized together.

Module 4: Visually

AGENDA

Introduction: 25 minutes

  • Visually is the next tool we will discuss.  This is a great tool because the user can create a variety of presentations right on the site such as infographs, videos, and e-books among other types of projects.  Despite the fact that this site is free to sign up for and free to create basic projects, there are different types of accounts depending on how you plan to use the site.  However, that is where the site will start to cost money to use, and there are a variety of different price points.

Module 5: Canva

AGENDA

  • Canva is a tool that is very useful for creating eye-catching posters or flyers.  The site provides tutorials which are very helpful to new users.  Also, Canva has its own blog which is accessible right from the site.  This is a great place for users to share their own work as well as observe and comment on other users' work.  It can be very helpful if you are stuck with how to get started or how to set up your own Canva project.
