The Great Depression

The Great Depression was the worst economic downturn in history, It began right after the stock market crashed on October 1929 this sent many into a panic and took out millions of investors. The Depression changed family's in dramatic ways for example, many couples divorced because it was too expensive to pay the legal fees and support two households.

Colleges in the 1930's

College in the 1930's was not something most teenagers worried about. Their only worries was getting a job to support their families. The tuition for a college in the 30's was about $250, a room and board was about $520. Also books cost about $35. At the university's in the 1930's there were strict rules to follow, such as no gentlemen were allowed in a lady's room, both feet had to be kept on the floor in the union and at dances at all times. If you got pregnant, you were out. This is so much different from todays college rules. I chose Baylor University and their mascot is a bear.

Gas back in the 1930's was only 17 cents per gallon Some other things like a Sliced Baked Ham was 39 cents per pound and Ketchup was 9 cents. The cost to purchase a new car was $945 dollars. A simple movie ticket cost $0.35, wow I would go to the movies all the time with that price.

Stan's Apology Letter

Dear Mr. Stroheim,

I am truly sorry for sweeping dirt on your shoes, i don't know what i was thinking or what got into me at the moment. It was an accident i just mistaked your shoes for the dustpan.

You will regret firing me because i was such a good employee and has never been late i would constantly be on task and work hard everyday with such a positive attitude. If you rehire me i will make it all up too, and i won't let you down sir.

So, I truly hope you take my apology into consideration and think about rehiring me. If you rehire me i promise you won't regret it. Thank you so much and once again i apologize.

Review on brighton Beach Memoirs

I highly recommend this book because if your looking for a laugh this book has tons of humor. My favorite part of the book was probably when Eugene would always say or do something crazy. My facorite character would have to be eugiene because he always made me laugh in this play.
