Salmonella is the name of a group of bacteria, it is one of the most causes of food poisoning                                                      in the United States.

          A lot of people have been getting sick because the meats aren't good. In this image    it shows how they are lowering the prices on the meat because Fosters Farms Chicken        has made salmonella common to get.

Salmonella is a type of food poisoning, there are about 42,000 cases of salmonella each year. About 400 people die each year from salmonella. Salmonella symptoms are fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. Salmonella develops 12 to 74 hours of infection before symptoms. The illness usually last 4 to 7 days if not too serious.

        Salmonella can be caused by many things, in this photo it shows a few of them. Salmonella can get into peanut butter, eggs, chicken, etc.

To help prevent salmonella it is important to keep cooked meat and raw meat on separate plates and not mix them. It is also important to make sure you cook the food until its done. Try not to use the same utensil as you did with different foods.

You can also get salmonella from reptiles. One of the most important things to do is wash your hands before and after handling foods, animals, etc.

It is important to not let your kids play around animals and reptiles for a long period of time. Animals carry salmonella and when around them for a long time you could get it too. Salmonella can also get on anything the animal or reptile has been on. It is important to                      make sure you wash your hands after playing with an animal.

People that have salmonella can be contagious. Sometimes they can still have salmonella even after the symptoms have disappeared. It is important not to share drinks or food after each other because that gives the other person a chance of getting it.
