What is Taxonomy ?

Taxonomy is the process of naming organisms and assigning them to groups. (hierarchical)

Seven levels of taxonomy classification?

Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family , Genus , and Species.

Classification of a Honey Bee?

Kingdom
Animalia ;
Phylum Arthropoda ; exoskeleton and jointed legs.
Class Insecta ; compound eyes, antennae, and three part bodies.
Order Hymenoptera ; membraned wings. ( bees, ants, wasps, and sawflies)
Family Apidae ; bumble bees, euglossine, euglossines, honey bees, stingless bees
Genus Apis ;
Species Mellifera ; related to honey reproduction.

Interesting Facts?

- The honey bee occupation is broken into three categories : worker bee , drones , and the Queen Bee.
-They make There hives out of wax.
-The Bee's sworn the hive only when they're reproducing.
-The Queen bee is feed a special diet by the worker to make her fertile, while other female bee's eats a regular diet and can be 18-20mm.
-Worker bees are females who can be 9-18mm; mostly with all black heads, with golden brown and black and orange patches on the body.
- Male drones lack stingers and are kept until reproduction is complete , then kill and removed front the hive.
