JACKSON'S CHILDHOOD

-Andrew Jackson was born in Waxhaws, on the border of North and South Carolina, to this day both states claim each is his birth state

-His mother and brother were killed by the British and he was captuered and held prisioner

- He earned admission to the North Carolina Bar in 1787

-He also was an attorney for the state of Tennessee

-He served as a major general in the war of 1812

Jackson during Presidency

-He became president  in 1828

-Jackson was the nation’s first frontier president, and his election marked a turning point in American politics

-He created the Democratic Party while in office and eventually the election of the vice prsident, Martin Van Burin lead to success for the political party

-He approved of the treaty signed by the Cherokee Indians that gave them access tothe land that would eventually be Arkansas

-Jackson over came the conflict of South Carolina's enforment to be anti-Democratic

Jackson's Death

-Jackson died at the age of 78

-He died of swelling, Turberculosis and increasing heart faliure

-He died in Hermitage, Pennsylvania
