Why was Jerusalem important to the Muslims?

The Muslims believe in all the Prophets. They also believe in all the holy books including Zaboor, Torah, the Bible, the Qur'an. Many of the holy Prophets are buried in Jerusalem

The First Crusade started as a widespread pilgrimage and ended as a military expedition by Roman Catholic Europe to regain the Holy Lands taken in the Muslim conquests of the Levant, ultimately resulting in the recapture of Jerusalem in 1099.

the crusade weakened the feudal nobility and increase power of kings the fall of Constantinople weakened the byzantine empire trade expanded between Europe and south west Asia, some types of goods exchange were spices, fruits, cloth.

It is the perception that Islam is the second (if not the first) religion in the world with around one quarter of the world population is following it. They believe that followers of Islam (Muslims) are spread allover the world although with different percentages.
