The Handy Man has ape and human features. The Handy Man was about four foot tall. The Handy Mans brains were twice the size of Lucy's group. They had more human like features than Lucy's group did.

The Handy Man lived in Africa. The Handy Man used rocks, stone, bones, and ticks to make tools. The Handy Man used tools protect themselves against animals. They also used tools to develop a system of writing. They also raised animals such as cows, sheep, and pigs. Their ability to make tools helped their group survive.
