The Words I live By:
"Imperfection is beauty. Madness is genius and it is better to be absolutely ridiculous then absolutely boring." This quote means a lot to me because we live in a world where appearance is everything from your clothes to your mannerisms. This quote sums up the way I feel about the world and everyone in it. I would rather have friends that accept me for these attributes and friends who feel the same as I do than people who want me to be the way they think I should be. This quote has nothing to do with my career it has to do with the way I want to be. It symbolizes how I want to live everywhere including my job and I feel that this quote will help me in the future if for some reason I begin to change for someone else it will bring me back to who I am at the time.
My Role model:
My role model is Heather Speed she is like a second mother to me and looking at who I am now she has contributed so much to how I got here. She helped me through so many issues with my parents or brother she always has a way of getting through to me. Looking at her life and what she's been through it is truly inspiring. Through Heather's lifetime she had cancer for 8 years and survived even though she should have died. She has been stabbed, cut open, prodded, and studied for almost one fourth of her life and she still works harder than anyone I know. She is strong for everyone and carries the weight of her house hold on her shoulders. She also started working when she was eleven. She has cared for and raised over 20 foster children in her life and never took a single penny from the state. She know's nine languages and could have gone to high school for one year. She teaches me so much about the world because she knows so many facts. Without her I would be lost. I respect her with every fiber in my being because she does the same for me.
If it wasn't for Heather I probably would have been institutionalized into a mental hospital already. She has a way of making everything better. That is inspiring to me and I hope one day I can be like that. I would like to be someones rock in the future be one of the only people they look up to and that would be truly life changing.
Sports Medicine is imperative to injuries that were obtained through physical activities or sports. In the article “ Breaking Stride” the author states, “Do not attempt to reduce or relocate a dislocated joint yourself! This should only be done by a physician.” This is proof that without sports medicine or any medicine people would be worse off and would have forever lasting injuries. Sports medicine physicians chose this career to help others and to prevent injuries in people such as children, teenagers, adults, and the elderly. If it weren’t for this job many sports athletes would most likely never play sports again causing them to lose the joy in their life.
