Mesopotamia: was an ancient region in the eastern Mediterranean bounded in the northeast by the Zagros Mountains and in the southeast by the Arabian Plateau, corresponding to today's Iraq, mostly, but also part of modern-day Iran, Syria and Turkey.

System of Writing: people created systems of writing. That is how we can communicate with each other today. They invented cuneiform : the worlds first system of writing. They also created epics: long poems that tell the stories of heroes. finally, they created the alphabet: is a set of letters that can be combined to form words.

Art/architecture: They built buildings. They also made pictographs: or picture symbols. Architecture means, the science of building. There were also ziggurats. Ziggurat: a pyramid- shaped temple tower.

Social Classes: In the social classes there are scribes, kings,slaves, etc. Scribe:writers. Scribes are people who are the ones who write things down for people. Scribes were the only ones who knew how to write. Kings: rulers. Kings are rulers, they tell what people can do or can't do. Kings are the most important people in the social classes. Slaves: lower part of the social pyramid. Slaves are people who have to work for someone. Slaves weren't considered people they were considered an it.
