Otzi the Iceman
By: Grace Gerken
Otiz the iceman lived around 3,300 BCE. Otiz was found on September 1991 in the Otztal Alps, hence the nickname Otiz. His body and belongings are now displayed in the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology .The 40-something's list of complaints include worn joints, nasty growth on his little toe (maybe caused by frostbite).
Furthermore, the Iceman's gut contained the eggs of parasitic worms.... EWW! He likely had a really effective disease. Ötzi was also in need of a dentist—an in-depth dental examination found evidence of advanced gum disease and tooth decay.
