Successful Beauty Pageant Contestant
College student, public speaker, and anti-bullying advocate Kelly Dillard has a successful career in the world of beauty pageants. In addition to holding titles in the Miss America system, Ms. Dillard has been awarded the titles of Miss Teen Rowlett, Miss West Texas Outstanding Teen, Miss Ellis County Outstanding Teen, and Miss North Texas.
Kelly Dillard, who is currently a Psychology major at the University of North Texas in Denton, was a member of the University of North Texas dance team for two years. She had the honor of dancing with the team at the 2011 Super Bowl halftime show that featured The Black Eyed Peas. In addition, Ms. Dillard made it to the finals in her auditions for both the Dallas Mavericks Dancers and the Dallas Stars Dancers.
While Kelly Dillard was a student at McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas, she was a member of the drill team for four years. During this time, the team earned a second place title at the Texas State Hip Hop competition, as well as being finalists in another state competition in the “lyrical” category.
Through her involvement with the Miss Texas organization, Kelly Dillard has had the opportunity to do community service for many charities including Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Gilda’s Club, and Habitat for Humanity. Ms. Dillard, who is also an accomplished pianist, is an advocate for bullying prevention and recently spoke out publicly as a guest on the Anderson Cooper show. As a victim of anonymous bullying herself, she hopes to help change laws about anonymous bullying.
