Being Negative is Good

Example: I hate Mrs. Stevens and that's a good thing

It turns out being negative is good for you and it makes you feel positive and it helps you endure challenges.  The world feeds on anger, without it there would be no social progress.  Without anger, there would be no U.S.A or equality for all races.  Regretting something shows how humble you are.  Being envious or jealous makes us work harder to be better than that person.  Without having fear, we would be huge risk takers.  Fear also is the thing that saves our lives in a dangerous situation.  Being bored makes you think creatively.  Being sad signals to other people that you need help.  Having shame or embarrassment makes you want to fix yourself.

When I read this article I was surprised because I thought negative emotions were useless, except being jealous.  Other than that I didn't really react much.  A few things I found interesting was that being negative actually makes us feel good.  Also, feeling regret is essential to ego development.  I also never noticed that most of the important events in the world that happened was because of anger.   This relates to psychology because It has to do with your mind.

Wow this was actually really interesting. I totally agree with what you said about the important things in the world being a product of anger! AKA WW1, WW2, etc.
