Sherman's Vicious Victory

I think William Sherman was justified and clever in his total war. Sherman shoved a dagger straight into the souths heart by taking Atlanta and Savannah for the union. Without Sherman's extreme intelligence and wit it is unlikely that the north could have won as soon as it did, seeing Sherman was one of the norths most capable generals. The south sealed their fate when they left the union and they deserved the misery and suffering provided in ample supply by William Sherman.

Williams march to sea and its brutality is similar to that of what protestors and anti-government militants in Egypt. Egypt's protestors sought destruction of governmental buildings sacrificing life and limb for their total war plans (and their own...) in order to bring down an opposing force much like William Sherman's tactic to destroy property of hostiles in order to damage the souths economy and supplies.
