Drew DeSilver a Senior Writer at the Pew Research Center wrote an article July 24, 2014 asking Voter turnout always drops off for midterm elections, but why?
He gives some great insight into why voter turnout drops off during the mid-terms.
I have heard enough about voter turnout during the mid-terms! If we don’t exercise our right to vote, WHY ARE YOU HERE?
I admit, I wasn't a big mid-term electorate, because I did understand the importance. I DO NOW!

I reiterate, if we don’t exercise our right to vote, WHY ARE YOU HERE?
Less enthusiastic about your voting privilege is the problem. We dislike voting, because elected officials are by far the worst individuals on the face of the planet and they have turned voters off.
Not all elected officials are horrible people, just the majority!
If we don’t vote, nothing will change!
If we don’t vote, nothing gets better!
If we don’t vote, horrible elected officials remain in office!
If we don’t vote, we have no voice!
If we don’t vote, we are the problem!
This mid-term and ever elections matters. If you are reading this, please share it. Retweet it! Whichever social media platform you desire, help get the word out how important our votes are.
The President is not on the ballot, clearly. Elected officials whom we know nothing about are. Do you and yours a solid this mid-term and every election; make it an event get out and vote.
