Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was born April 16, 1971 she was was a singer-songwriter, best known as the "top latin artist of the 90's" and best latin artist of the decade. Selena was very talented and she loved what she did she took it as a gift. Selena had the most successful singles of 1994 and 1995, "Amor Prohibido" and "No Me Queda Más". She was called" The Queen of Tejano music and the Mexican equivalent of Madonna. Selena's father "Abraham Quintanilla" started a band with his children A.B Quintanilla, Suzette Quintanilla, and selena was the center of attention. Soon Selena released her first album, "Selena y Los Dinos" and at the age of twelve then soon won Female Vocalist of the Year in 1987 Tejano Music Awards and landed a recording contract with "EMI" a few years later. Her fame grew through the early 1990s, mostly in Spanish-speaking countries, but had also began recording in English.

I chose this video because its things we may not know about her. Selena didin't get to live her life fully and she died so young. She was role model to most people and also was loved by everyone, her voice touched people hearts.
Selena's murder sent shockwaves through the Latino community, and her fans around the world mourned the singer's passing.
Selena died on March 31, 1995, in Corpus Christi, Texas, after being shot by Yolanda Saldivar, the founder of the Selena fan club. Saldivar had been managing Selena's boutique in San Antonio, and was about to be fired for embezzling money.
