Grandparents arriving at Knapp

Most Important News...

(If nothing else, read this part.)

This week is a short week at Knapp. No school Thursday (November 27) and Friday (November 28) because of Thanksgiving Break.

Tuesday, November 25th is Diversity Day at Knapp! The students and staff will celebrate during the school day and then families will gather in the Cafeteria for a potluck Diversity Dinner 5:30pm - 7:00pm. It isn't too late to join in this delicious event...Send in the FLYER or email Miss Albertson at

The November Home and School Meeting (and final one for 2014) will immediately follow the Diversity Dinner at 7:00pm in the IMC. We will be sharing highlights from the day. (Students are always welcome) If you cannot join us in person, we invite you to join us online at:

We are planning to host a Family Hour of Code on Tuesday, December 9th. What is Hour of Code? Check out this VIDEO and FLYER. We will have activities for all ages. If interested, we could use a few volunteers to help lead activities. The more volunteers - the more choices we can offer. Since we know there are some very tech-savvy students out there, we are opening this invite to lead an activity to both parents and students (students will need an adult to be there with them/co-lead). Some activities require no prior experience. Contact Gwen if interested at

Did you miss the book fair, forget to get something, or were we sold out of the book you wanted? You can order online and receive free shipping until December 4th, and Knapp will earn credit for the orders. Just click here:, November 24th: Community Conversations with the Superintendent, ESC (call 215-853-1032 to RSVP). These are informal meetings open to the public, with Dr Dietrich. There is no doubt our Knappsters will be reading plenty in the coming month. We increased our book fair sales this year by 18%!!!

Also...thank you to our families who donated (and to Ms Milles' class for counting) change to our All For Books collection. The money raised went to purchasing books for the classrooms and library. This year we collected $779.86!!!

A special thank you to Mrs Wauls for her leadership of this event and to the volunteers who helped set up, run and break down this event. We couldn't do this without you!

Other home and school news....we had our most successful dine out night yet. We raised $250 from our event at Chick-Fil-A. Thank you to all who attended!! This money goes to hosting events, assemblies and field trips for the students.
