MEET THE TEACHER

Monte Sano Elementary School - December 15, 2014

Hello Parents & Guardians!
My name is Kimberly Palmer and I will be your child's new 2nd grade teacher at Monte Sano Elementary School. I can not tell you how excited I am to be a part of the Monte Sano family. I am very honored to be your child's teacher for the remaining of the 2014-2015 school year. What a privilege it will be to see your child flourish as we learn and grow together!
I graduated from Auburn University in 2008 with a BS in International Business concentrating in Supply Chain Management and Spanish. Upon moving to Huntsville, Alabama I decided that I wanted to pursue a degree in Education. I graduated from the University of Alabama-Huntsville in 2011 with a BA in Elementary Education K-6.
My experience involves a variety of positions that I believe have helped me develop professionally. I worked as the Director of After School Care Program at Legacy Elementary in Madison County for the 2011-2012 school year. I worked as the ESL teacher at Morris Elementary in Huntsville City for the 2012-2013 school year. I worked as the Elementary Spanish teacher at Horizon, Rainbow, West Madison, and Madison Elementary Schools in Madison City for the 2013-2014 school year. I am excited to work for Monte Sano Elemenatry School for the 2014-2015 school year!
I am married to my best friend, Gavin. We have two animal kids Zoe, our golden retriever, and Tallulah, our cat. I enjoy gardening, cooking, the great outdoors, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
I have a passion for teaching and learning. I believe that in order to have success in the classroom I must have good communication with both students and their parents and guardians. I want to make sure that you feel comfortable contacting me at anytime with questions, concerns, or comments. I can promise that I will have consistent communication with you and be very responsive as we work together. I ask for your support as I get to know you and your child. I want to create a community of learners that will meet and exceed their goals!
I look forward to getting to know each of you and having the opportunity to be a part of your child's educational development!
