C.S.S Ram Neuse

  • The C.S.S Ram Neuse was a steam-powered ironclad ram of the Confederate States Navy  that served in the latter part the American Civil War and was eventually capture buy the Union Navy. It was made on 17 October 1862 between the shipbuilding company of Thomas Howard and Elijah Ellis and with the help of the Confederate Navy. It had ten gun ports (four more than the Albemarie). She was made from local pine trees and some oak, and she was armored with Wrought Iron.
