The Komodo Dragon on lived on Indonesia's Lesser Sunda Islands for millions of years, but have only been discovered 100 years ago.

The Komodo Dragon is considered endangered with only 3000 to 5000 left in the wild.

The Komodo Dragon is endangered because of poching, human encroachment, and natrual disasters.

Komodo Dragons are amazing hunters. They eat anything from small birds to water buffalo or even humans. If its prey escapes it, the saliva containing over 50 strands of bacteria will kill the victim of blood poisoning within 24 hours. They can grow up to 6 feet long, and can run at 11 miles per hour in short bursts.
