What will we be using?
In our experiment we will be using Alka Seltzer and water. Most people know what water is but a lot of people don't know what Alka Seltzer is. Alka Seltzer is a combination of sodium bicarbonate asprin, and anhydrous citric acid. It is used for the relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, and stomach aches.
What will HAPPEN To the temperature WHEN WE MIX ALKA SELTZER AND WATER?
When we mix Alka Seltzer and water, the temperature decreases. Our experiment is an endothermic reaction because the energy was absorbed. The lowest temperature was 30 degrees Celsius and the highest temperature was 32 degrees Celsius.

In our reaction, Alka Seltzer tablets are mixed with water and makes bubbles and releases a substance that makes the water a pink/purple color. The reactants are Sodium, Hydrogen, Carbon, and Oxygen. Evidence of Chemical Reaction
There are some signs besides the temperature change that show what occurred was a chemical reaction. First of all bubbles formed, bubbles are the new substance which proves the chemical reaction. The Alka Seltzer tablets dissolved into the water and the water turned into a pink/purple color.
