The Met Gala is an annual fundraising costume ball for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. This past weekend the Gala took place. During the red carpet, celebrities were asked to refrain from taking selfies and using their cellphones. But, a few rebellious icons decided against this rule. Richard Lawson of Vanity Fair writes an article explaining who thought the "selfie rule" DID NOT apply to. You can read it here.
Other news surrounding the Gala included the one and only Casey Neistat! He appeared at the red carpet with his camera in hand ready to answer questions from the press. He has committed to daily vlogging his life on YouTube. You can watch his Met Gala experience here. Also, Vogue asked him to vaguely put together a film that would portray the exclusive atmosphere this event presents. Neistat being the creative genius he is, decided to meet up with a few people to make the video happen. He explains his plan in the vlog.
Fashion is a huge aspect of the Gala and the New York Times was there to catch the action on the red carpet. Read about it here!
