Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad

Harriet Tubman was born in Maryland in 1820. She escaped slavery to become a leading abolitionist. She successfully escape in 1849 and came back many time to free her family that were slaves. She's used the Underground Railroad to help escape hundreds of slaves to freedom. Also during the civil war she was an Union Army as a cook and nurse. She was also the first some to lead an armed expenditure in the war.
