This project is about parentheses and how they can trick you if you don't put them in the right place. I chose this project because i love to crunch numbers and to solve problems.

Example:  4-2-1 In this equation parentheses can be put in two different places:

(4-2)-1=1    OR   4-(2-1)=3

How many sets of parentheses can be put in the equation 8-4-2-1?!

(8-4)-2-1=1   OR   8-(4-2)-1=5  OR   8-4-(2-1)=3

You can use 3 SETS of parentheses!!!!

How many sets of parentheses can put in the equation 16-8-4-2-1?!

(16-8)-4-2-1=1     OR     16-(8-4)-2-1=9      OR    16-8-(4-2)-1=5    OR    16-8-4-(2-1)=3

You can use 4 SETS of parentheses!!!!

How many answers do you THINK you can have in the equation 32-16-4-2-1?  I THINK that you can have 5 different answers because you put 5 sets of parentheses in total.

What do all of these numbers that i put on examples have in common? Everything is a pattern because everything is multiplied by two!
