Roger Bacon

Roger Bacon (1214-1294), also known as Doctor Mirabilis which is Latin for astounding doctor. He also was an English philosopher and educational reformer who was a major medieval proponent of experimental science. Bacon studied mathematics,astronomy, optics, alchemy, and languages. He was the first European to describe in detail the process of making gunpowder , and he proposed flying machines and motorized ships and carriages.

He was born in somerset England. His family appears to have been well-off, but, during the stormy reign of Henry III of England, their property was destroyed and several members of the family were driven into exile.

he has an everlasting impact on the world because he invented the eyeglasses and gunpowder which are both used today.
