Huntington disease (AKA HD) is a Neurological degenerative Disease that leads to dementia and loss of muscle strength. It effects the 4th chromosomes.
Who does it affect? It affects both boys and girls equally, because it is connected to their 4th autosomal chromosome.
Symptoms: involuntary jerking of muscles, difficulty with swallowing, slow eye movement, loss of energy, frequent thoughts of suicide
Research being done: HD is being looked at very carefully today. It is shown to be inherited, as It is passed down from a parent to a child by a mutation or misspelling in the normal gene.
