Who: The leader/Prime Minister of North Korea was Kim II-Sung. North Korea's chief commander was Choi Yong-Kun. The President of South Korea was Syngman Rhee. The South Korean Armywas led by Chung II-Kwon. The U.S Army and United Nations forces were lead by General Douglas MacArthur. The U.S Presidents were Harry Turman andDwight D. Eisenhower.
What:North and South Korea never really got along. There had been many battles at the boarders or the 38 Parallel before the war even started. The 2 sides were trying to negotiate a unified country, but they were going nowhere. On June 25 1950 North Korea invaded South Korea. Then The United Nations forces came into support South Korea. At first the U.S just defended South Korea, but then after the firs summer the U.S went on the offensive. At the end of the war a treaty was signed that stated the 2 country's would stay independent but would have a 2 mile area on both sides would have military forces in them in hope to prevent future war.
Where:The country's involved were North Korea, the Soviet Union, and the people republic of China V.s South Korea, U.S, Great Britain, and the United Nations.
When:The war started when North Korea invaded South Korea on June 25, 1950 and ended June 17, 1953.
Why:The war started because North Korea invaded South Korea and because the U.S wanted to make North Korea a non-communist country.
